As a result, Link’s conniving brain now resides in the body of a silverback gorilla. He escaped from Boroff, and in the chaos following Don DeMilo’s death, has somehow managed to build a criminal organization that runs the West Side of Port Nocturne.

The beautiful but deadly Madame Macabre is Port Nocturne's Queen of Vice. Operating out of her Marlowe Heights mansion,this diabolical dame has her well-manicured hands in virtually all of the city's most unsavory trades. Ruthless and ambitious, the Madame maintains a lucrative sideline in blackmail, but her ultimate goal is no less than complete dominion over Port Nocturne's underworld. To achieve this, she's not even above dabbling in the black arts and forbidden sciences...

Trust us when we tell you that it takes a real tough guy to walk the mean streets of Port Nocturne, and the streets get even meaner when you're talking about the neighborhood known as Old Town. In Old Town, there's only two kinds of tough guy – the dead and the deadly. Fortunately, slab-shaped shamus Red "Rusty" Nales is one of the latter. A two-fisted private dick with a .45 automatic named Lola, Nales is a hard-bitten ex-Marine with a bad haircut and a temper that's even worse.

A suave, good-looking Englishman, Dean Paladyn is Port Nocturne’s own "Robin Hood of crime," a dashing, charming adventurer and gentleman crime fighter. Independently wealthy, Paladyn travels the world looking for adventure so he’s not around the city much. However, he does keep a penthouse apartment at the regal Chandler Arms Hotel.

One phrase you rarely hear in Port Nocturne is: "honest cop." But if you do happen to hear it muttered in a cynical, derisive voice, there's only one man it could be applied to – Chief of Detectives, Lieutenant Rod Riley. This square-jawed defender of the law is a bit of a joke to the rest of the force, but his unwavering pursuit of justice has made him a formidable presence on the streets of Port Nocturne. His passion for justice is rivaled only by his passion for nightclub chanteuse Dahlia Blue, with whom the straight-llaced cop is more than a little smitten.
